Construction work on the reinforced-concrete construction of a coke silo, as part of the “Deep Processing” project at the Pančevo Refinery Oil, has been completed successfully. It is a capital project of the second phase of modernization of NIS processing capacities.
The construction work on the building supporting columns measuring 2.0 × 1.6m and a height of 14.5m in multiple cycles of SCC concrete paving has been successfully carried out, with a special Doka formwork for this type of concrete.
Massive beams of 2.0 × 1.6 m are continued on the columns with a 1.1 m thick moulding and top panel. Due to the large spans and huge load, the Doka load-bearing scaffold Staxo 100 was designed for this type of construction. A special challenge was the construction of column reinforcement, which, due to the density of the rods, was continued by special systems for mechanical joining of the Alligator reinforcement.
The works were performed with the help of cranes and mobile cranes, 6 self-propelled baskets for work at height, and some moments over 50 workers were hired on the construction site, with respect for the highest environmental standards and protocols for occupational safety. The implementation of the project “Deep processing” creates the conditions for the cessation of production of high sulfur fuel oil, which will improve the environmental protection in Pancevo and its surroundings.
