Expansion and extension of the filter station - Vrbas
The city of Vrbas has been providing quality drinking water from underground sources for decades, but the increase in the number of inhabitants and the development of the surrounding settlements created the need for additional capacities and modernization of the system.
The new part of the plant was designed based on the existing, proven efficient system, with the introduction of modern solutions for aeration, degassing and filtration of well water. The total capacity will be increased by 2 × 50 liters per second, thus ensuring a stable flow and reserve capacity in case of increased consumption.

The purification process is based on the natural principles of oxidation and biological filtration, without the use of aggressive chemicals, which contributes to the protection of the environment and the preservation of the natural quality of water. In this way, iron, manganese and ammonia are effectively removed from the water, which ensures clean, clear and healthy water ready for distribution to households.
In addition to new filters and aeration systems, the project also includes the construction of additional tanks, water treatment facilities and systems for collecting and disposing of waste water from filter washing. All facilities are connected in a single, automated system that enables easier monitoring, better efficiency and lower maintenance costs.
The expansion of the filter station in Vrbas represents an important step towards a safer, cleaner and more sustainable water supply system. With this project, the city confirms its commitment to the health of its citizens, the preservation of resources and the responsible management of natural resources.
