The existing plant, which has been operating continuously for more than four decades, treats wastewater from about 75% of the city's households and numerous industrial facilities. The new project envisages the reconstruction of worn-out parts, the introduction of a tertiary level of purification to remove nitrogen and phosphorus, as well as the construction of a completely new sludge treatment line. This ensures a higher degree of purification and significantly reduces the impact on the environment.
The project includes the reconstruction of key facilities, including pumping stations, nitrification basins and clarifiers, as well as the modernization of the command building, substation and auxiliary facilities. In addition, the construction of new denitrification basins, mechanical sludge dewatering facilities, compressor stations and the introduction of a tertiary filtration system is planned. All buildings are designed in accordance with the highest standards of energy efficiency, with the use of modern materials and automated management systems.
Thanks to this project, Vršac gets a modernized and sustainable plant that ensures high efficiency, stable operation and a significant improvement in the quality of water that returns to natural streams. This project represents an important step in the improvement of communal infrastructure and the preservation of the ecosystem, whereby the city confirms its commitment to environmental protection and the quality of life of its citizens.
